Hi friends!
I am Shaista.
I was born and brought up in Delhi and the languages I know are Hindi, English and so-called Bihari

I am a nice person at heart and have a great sense of humour...my friends say so..I am modest u see!
And to prove this further, I'd modestly tell you one bad quality of mine;"I dont think before I speak and I am impatient..( do ho gayi)"; this is also one of the things that my friends say...my friends say so much!

Academics

I'd like to start with my school days. In nursery and Prep, I was at NGFS, Malviya Nagar(wo to yaad nahi) and from 1st to 12th I was at St. Paul's School, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.

Then I finished my graduation from Deshbandhu College, Delhi University in 2002
(Abhi bore mat hona...bahut kuchh kiya hai maine...aur bahut kuchh kar rahi hoon!)

Fir post graduation kari JMI, New Delhi se 2004 mein....which has been the best part of my life so far!

And then I did B.Ed. from Hindu College of Education, Sonipat(in 2005)....i dont know why!...just a waste of an academic year!!
Finally...I've started off with my PhD in Physics(in 2006) ...which i had dreamt of in my masters. Life is going great ..and acc to what I wanted !!...well...what's the fun in teaching adolocents?!..they wont listen to you neways..

Academic experiences

Graduation were my coolest days...I just remember the fun we did here, no academics can I recall!
My best friend in college was Rama.

School days were fun too, especially 11th and 12th. My best friend in school was Isha Jain.
My best teacher in school is called Mr. Suresh Chugh and u can find him here.

Further...the most unforgettable year of my life has been 2004-05!
Isliye nahi ki BEd kiya....isliye ki is saal ki wajah se mujhe life ke baare mein bahut kuchh pata chala. Hostel life was khool....and I enjoyed a lot at Sonipat. And overall I suggest ki har insaan ko ek na ek baar hostel mein zaroor rehna chahiye
Iske alaawa poore saal bahut ups and downs huey...jinke details batana mumkin nahi.

I can't miss to say that jamia was the most wonderful experience of my life. I have learnt so much there... different people, different styles(I wonder why I dint meet/notice them before that).
The khoolest(better than "coolest") teachers I have ever had are from jamia. Aur jamia ke baare mein main aapko kya bataoon...yahan aane ke baad to mujhe yaad he nahi ki maine apni beeti hui life kahan bitai?!..I mean I had the best time of my life there.
Aur padhai bhi yahin karni seekhi thi maine . Here's the project I took up in the final year.
This was done under the supervision of Dr. Tabish Qureshi, who is real brains!

Lets now see how JNU is going to treat me...
Until now, I have been just enjoying and reading for my coursework...and now starts the real game!...like someone once said..."Ye PhD nahi aasaan yaaron, ek aag ka dariya hai aur doob ke jaana hai! ...just like ishq u see;-)
The fun last year(2006) was (i mean other than everyday)in the cultural and hostel nights ...where we just used to bump in every other hostel's function and danced for nothing!!... Next year we wont be as young i guess:-)..

Family

My mom and dad have four children

. I mean we are four brother-sisters. Aur inke details inke home pages pe milenge.

My interests

Listening to music....it makes me drunk(is there ne other way of saying that?)
I love to surf sites where I get lyrics to various songs. and ones where i can listen to English or Hindi songs.

I am very fond of Flowers too!

While walking on the streets too, I look at flowers that pass by;-) and try to identify them...and yes, if someone's along, they HAVE TO listen about that flower! (Though people often get bored :-(...and thats not my prob :-D
