Saigon Durgotsav is finally taking its complete shape. What started in 2004 as an enthusiasm of like minded people residing in Saigon to hold Durgotsav and celebrating the event of Bengali Calendar, met with overwhelming success over the past 3 years. Maturing and learning from the past, members felt a step forward may be taken.
Yes, finally Durga Puja is being celebrated in Saigon in true sense. Starting from Mahalaya, Debi Baron ending with Bhasan on Dashomi day, our Puja would follow strict schedule of Gupta Panjika. During these days members and local Indian Community would celebrate usual Durgotsav flavors with Song, Dance and typical Bengali food.
Our Local Vietnamese Artist friends has taken challenge to meet the standards of Kumartuli. Yes, the Protima is being made in Saigon! While our Vietnamese chef friends are preparing to serve us amongst host of Bengali dishes, Galda Chingrir Malakari and Sorse Ilish on puja days.
