I am a European American who has been fond of India for over 40 years. There was the Indian Pavilion at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, and then the Beatles introduced Indian music to us. Later I learned about the Kama Sutra (however I am still Christian) and karma. Being from New York City, there were the great Indian restaurants serving dishes that I can’t make at home. There are numerous Indian Americans living in New York, and many of them play a sport similar to baseball, called cricket. The park where the Indian Pavilion stood now has cricket pitches, and it gives me a chance to watch some of the matches played there. |
