CURRICULUM: As specified by AMI, adapted for Indian conditions. Followed in Spirit and Letter --not usual nursery or kindergarten routine. WE ARE NOT A CRECHE OR DAY CARE CENTRE, PLEASE NOTE-, at present no after school care is provided. Children must be picked up after close of session, daily. One session 9-12 only at present.
Van and auto transport is available, but must be arranged at parents discretion and responsibility. ANKUR will not be responsible for children outside premises and after school hours. Parents will have to decide if the AUTO or VAN is suitable enough.
Equipment: standards followed and all equipment as per the AMI guidelines... specific equipment as mentioned in the Montessori method is used worldwide and is designed for the child's educational growth.
We believe the MONTESSORI method is most suited for Indian kids and the Indian Setup. Other methods are being developed by experimentation in some places.
The Waldorf Method, for example, is based on extensive make believe, similarly "Playway" uses toys and fantasy, Emilia regio is also being tried out in India. Dr Montessori claimed that upto the age of 3 the child is more interested in reality and REALITY stories. THE CHILD is still trying to make sense of the REAL WORLD. Development occurs in 3 year cycles, and 6 year phases. We are concerned with the 1st 6 year phase and hope to make the 3 years spent with ANKUR the best for your toddler. {The practical view of life is suited for a developing country like India. Also not all children, (in any country), come from affluent backgrounds where their future is secure}.
The other systems have dogmas developed by their proponents. Montessori, on the other hand has been operational in India for many years, and has found world wide acceptance.

As part of its ongoing search for the ideal teaching and environmental balance, ANKUR is continuously seeking trained staff who are willing to contribute and grow with the school.
