CODE OF GOOD BEHAVIOUR

  1. Students are forbidden to smoke in the Educational Premises, to write or make any marks on the walls or desks or to throw papers or ink about the floors of the class rooms. Those who violate these rules are liable to be punished.
  2. Students are not allowed to stand about or walk along the verandas of the College during the Class hours.
  3. Strict silence should be observed inside the class rooms.
  4. No student is allowed to enter or to leave the class room without the permission of the lecturer concerned.
  5. Students attending the classes, meetings of the College or other functions are expected to be neatly dressed.
  6. Requests, petitions, appeals and complaints of any kind have to be made in the first place to the Class Advisor or the Heads of the Department concerned and not directly to the Higher authorities.
  7. If any damage is caused to any of the Institution property by any student / group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with fine from the particular student / group of students.
  8. No student who has been convicted of any offence in a court of a law will be allowed to continue his / her studies in the College.
  9. Students should abstain from active participation in party or communal politics. Students who indulge in political propaganda or who organize fellow students in political factions in the premises of the College or Hostel or who otherwise engage themselves in party politics are liable to be expelled from the College and Hostel.
  10. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and action will be taken against students who indulge in the despicable form of activities according to government rules and regulations.
  11. Principal / Hostel authorities shall have power to frame and issue from time to time disciplinary rules of a permanent or temporary character regulating the conduct inside and outside the college or Hostel precincts.
  12. Principal / Hostel authorities shall have full power to inflict the following punishments in the interests of the students or of the Institution ; fine, lack of attendance, suspend and expel students for violation of disciplinary regulations and code of good behaviour.
  13. Students should not indulge in any activity leading to the disruption of peace and discipline and dislocation of normal work in the college and Hostel premises. Those who are guilty of violation of this rule will be severely dealt with.
  14. Students are not allowed to organize or attend any meeting in the Institution / Hostel without getting the permission of the Principal.
  15. Students who are guilty of (i) rude language towards the staff of the College or Hostel (ii) Assault or attempt to assault the staff or fellow students of the college or hostel will be expelled from the Institution.
  16. Prescribed uniform should be worn by all the students for work shops / Laboratory.

ATTENDANCE

  1. Staff members shall take attendance at the beginning of each period.
    1. A Student who is not in the class room when the attendance is taken shall be marked absent and shall lose the attendance for that session.
    2. No Student will be allowed inside the class beyond 8.35 a.m. for the Forenoon session and beyond 1.00 p.m. for the Afternoon session.
    3. Late comers will be allowed to enter class room only after getting permission from the Head of the Department.
  2. The attendance of each students shall be totaled at the end of the every month and indicated in the progress report and in the Notice Board.
  3. A minimum of 75 % attendance is required for appearing for the University Examinations. Students who do not put in the minimum attendance will not be allowed to appear for the University Examinations.
WORKING HOURS

        There will be six working days / five working days a week and eight working periods a day from 8.35 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. with a break between 12.05 noon to 1.00 p.m.

HOLIDAYS

        All Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays and Holidays notified by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Trust.

AWARDS
  1. Prizes are awarded to the students who secured 100% attendance in the Academic year.
  2. Prizes are awarded to the students who have secured centum in any theory paper conducted by the University of Madras or Periyar University.
  3. KSR Educational Help Funds are awarded to poor meritorious students.

SCHOLARSHIP AND FEE CONCESSIONS

         The Backward Class welfare Scholarships, the Adi Dravidar Welfare Scholarships, the National Loan Scholarships, the State Loan Scholarships, a few merit scholarships and full, half fee concessions are awarded. Necessary forms of application may be collected from the office and submitted well in advance.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Strict silence should be observed in the Library
  2. Each student is permitted to take only one book at a time from the Library on surrendering the Library tickets issued to them. Library tickets are not transferable under any circumstances.
  3. A borrower taking a book on loan will check the book and inform the librarian if there is any damage. A fine of Rs.30/- will be collected for any damage to the book.
  4. Books borrowed on loan must be returned within a fortnight. In default of punctual of a book fine will be levied as follows. For First Week - Re.1/- per day From Second Week onwards - Rs.2/- per day
  5. Books may be renewed for a further period of another fortnight and renewal will be permitted if no other student has applied for the books in the meantime. More than two consecutive renewals will not be allowed.
  6. Books that are in special demand may be called for at any time it required.
  7. Books borrowed from the library are not transferable.
  8. Library books must be returned when students go home on long vacation.
  9. Students are required to use library books with care. Marking, underlining or annotating in the books are not permitted.
  10. A student who has lost a ticket should report it immediately to the library and make a written request to the principal for a duplicate ticket. Such duplicate tickets will be issued on payment of Rs.25/- for each duplicate ticket.
  11. Magazines and journals are ordinarily not lent out. After perusal they must be kept in the respective places.
  12. Loan of books may be terminated at any time for contravening the above rules.
  13. Library rules will be finalized by the Library Committee from time to time.
  14. If a library book is damaged or missed, the person who is responsible for that has to replace the book with fine. If the replacement is not possible triple the cost of the book will be collected from the concerned person.
  15. Student will take reference books only on submission of their identification cards to the Librarian.
  16. All the Students are instructed to put their signature in the entrance register.
