The College has a library containing books pertaining to the various courses of study in this institution as well as number of books of general value and interest. The Number of volumes at present is 30,000 and further books are being added. Besides books, a large number of journals and other periodicals are subscribed to.
This library is for the use of the staff and students of the College only. The Library is open from 8.35 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on all working days. The Library is closed on Sundays and Government holidays.
BOOK BANK
A Book Bank for the benefit of students belonging to SC/ST is functioning in the Library.
- The main objective of the Book Bank is to help the students belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Communities by issuing the prescribed Text-Books.
- The Students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe alone are eligible to borrow books from this Book Bank.
- The SC / ST Students, who are desirous of borrowing books, should submit an application form. All the columns in the application forms should be filled up and submitted on or before the last date which will be notified in the library notice board.
- Books are issued subject to availability.
- No student can claim any book as a matter of right.
- No student can keep the books issued to him / her for more than one semester.
- Books borrowed under this Book Bank Scheme should be returned in good condition as soon as they are not longer required.
- A fine of Re. 1/- per day will be levied for late return of books.
- Books should not be interchanged by students on their own. Any student who loses or defaces the book issued to him / her shall replace it by a new copy or pay trible the cost with fine if any.
- Students, who receive the book from this Book Bank should see whether the books issued to them are in good condition.
- It is the persona responsibility of the Students to see whether return entries are made in the issue register at the time of return.
- Transfer Certificate will be issued only after the production of No Due Certificate from the Library.
HOSTELS - MENS / WOMENS
Management of the Hostels
The hostels are under the direct control of the Principal, who is the Warden. The Warden will be assisted by Co - Wardens, Dy. Wardens, Residential Tutors, Hostel Superintendent and Hostel staff.
Hostel and Mess Committee:
The hostel and mess committee shall be constituted with the Warden as President, the Dy. Warden and the Student Representatives from hostels and messes. The Committee shall frame the rules and regulation from time to time for the effective administration of the hostels and the messes. Residents are required to adhere to the rules. Ignorance of the rules will not be accepted as an excuse. Violation of rules and regulations will be viewed seriously.
Admission
Application for admission to the hostel shall be made in the prescribed form which can be had from the Office. A passport size photograph must be affixed in the application form. The Student seeking hostel admission must give an undertaking in writing that he will abide by the rules of the hostel. This shall be endorsed by the parent / guardian in writing.
Membership shall terminate automatically at the end of each academic year. Students who are desirous of returning to the hostel shall make a fresh application for re-admission.
The Warden reserves the right to refuse admission to the hostel to any student without assigning reasons or to expel any member in the interest of administration. The decision of the Warden shall be final.
General Rules and Regulations:
- Ragging in any form is not permitted and those who violate will be expelled from the Institution and action as per government rules will be initiated.
- playing cards or any other form of gambling and playing tape recorders is strictly prohibited in the hostel premises.
- Students are forbidden to smoke, to write or make any marks on the wall or paste poster in the Institutions premises.
- Students who are (i) guilty of rude language towards the staff of the hostel (ii) Assault or attempt to assault the staff or fellow students of the Institution or hostel will be expelled from the institution.
- Students are not allowed to organize or attend any meeting in the hostel without getting the permission of Warden.
- No students should stay in the Hostel during the college working hours without the permission of the Warden / Deputy Warden.
- No Day scholar students are permitted to enter into the hostel.
- The silence hour's starts from 8:30 pm onwards to 6:00 am except Saturday silence hours starts from 10:30 pm to 6:00 am.
- Students are not allowed to roam about during the study / silence hours.
- No Students / Visitors / Guests will be permitted to enter the college premises, after 7:00 pm
- Students are permitted to watch TV programme from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on working days and 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm on holidays.
- Students are not permitted to play outdoor games inside the hostel premises without permission from the Warden.
- Students should lock their rooms with their own locks before they leave.
- Students should follow the mess timings as per the schedule put up in the Notice Board from time to time. Students should bring their own plates, tumblers, bedding, etc.,
- Students are permitted to go home on second and fourth week ends after registering their names in the Register kept in the mess.
- Under no circumstances should the students carry mess utensils or food stuffs outside the dinning hall.
- Guests are allowed to dine in the mess on production of token.
- The hostel deposit paid at the time of admission into the hostel will be refunded only after the completion of the course (or) at the time of leaving the hostel permanently.
- The hostel deposit will not be adjusted against mess dues, tuition fees or any other dues.
- Room rent once paid will not be refunded.
- If any damage caused to any of the Institution property by any student (or) group of students, the cost of the same will be recovered with fine from the particular student / group of students.
- Cleanliness in the mess and in the hostel area has to be maintained.
- Request, petition, appeals, complaints of any kind have to be made in the first place to the Warden / Dy. Warden.
- All the inmates of the ladies hostel should be inside the hostel on or before 6:30pm.
- Three Visitors Cards are allowed for ladies hostel inmates and the visitors are permitted only on production of the visitor card, before 6:30 pm
- No male student should enter the ladies hostel and no female should enter the male hostel.
- Each student shall pay an amount of Rs.3,500/- in advance towards room rent.
- Each student joining the hostel for the first time shall pay an amount of Rs.3,000/- in advance towards caution deposit in addition to admission fee of Rs.100/-
- Students who desirous of joining the Hostel, after discontinuation, have to pay a caution deposit of Rs.3,000/- again.
- If anybody discontinues from the hostel in the middle of the course his / her deposit will be forfeited.
- Each male student shall pay in advance an amount of Rs.9,000/- and a girl student Rs.8,500/- towards messing charges for the complete academic year.
- Each final year student of MCA, MBA, M.Sc., (CT) and Diploma in Chemical Technology shall pay in amount of Rs.5,000/- in advance towards messing and
- Rs.2,100/- towards room rent. MCA, MBA & M.Sc.,(CT) students who have paid the above amounts may stay in the hostel with permission during their project work presentation.
- The room shall be allowed on first come first served basis only on production of the receipts mentioned in (27) and (30) above.
- Dividing system will be followed. Any deficit towards messing charges has to be paid by the individual students. Excess if any in this account will be carried over.
- Payment made towards messing charges excess if any will not be refunded on any account, except after the completion of the course.
- Reduction is not allowed to any student irrespective of the number of days.
- For Staff members dining in the hostel the mess bill will be deducted from their salary. No reductions are allowed.
- Any dues of the previous year has to be cleared before allotment of rooms for the current year.
- Students are directed to pay the lodging and boarding charges in advance well before the reopening date in order to avoid rush on the reopening date.
- For the first year student, 20% of the lodging and messing charges will be deducted if due to any genuine reasons leave the institution within 2 months after joining and the remaining amount will be paid to the individual.
- The amount of mess bill will be intimated to the student by displaying in the notice boards.
Procedure for leaving the hostel permanently:
Whenever a student wishes to leave the hostel, he has to submit and application to the Warden through the Dy.Warden. Only after getting the approval the student can leave the hostel. While leaving the hostel the student has to hand over the furniture and electrical fittings to get a clearance certificate from the Dy.Warden. At the time of leaving the mess, the student has to sign the mess leaving register. The student has to pay the establishment and power charges for that mess month even if the student has taken food for a part of the mess month.
Leave of absence:
No member shall absent himself from the hostel without having previously obtained the permission of the Deputy Warden. If a member finds it necessary to leave the hostel in an emergency he shall report before the departure, the reason for his absence in writing to the Deputy Warden.
Mess month:
The hostel mess daily rate is calculated on dividing basis. The mess month commences from the 1st day of the calendar month.
