The K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology was founded by
Lion. Dr. K.S. RANGASAMY, M.J.F., in the year of 1994.
The College marks an important stage in the development of the services of the K.S.R. Educational and Charitable Trust. It rests in a cluster of Educational Institutions, the cluster consisting of K.S.Rangasamy Institute of Technology, Rajammal Rangasamy Industrial Training Institute, Rajammal Rangasamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School, R.R.H.S., K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, K.S.Rangasamy College of Arts and Science and Aarthi Polytechnic.
Lion. Dr. K.S.RANGASAMY is the illustrious son of Late Thiru. Sennimalai Gounder and Late Thirumathi.Pachaiammal. He belongs to the village of Karuveppakpatti, near Tiruchengode, Namakkal District. He hails from an agricultural family. He has only studied upto fourth standard. For further studies he did not get an opportunity. In addition to agriculture, he started doing a business in distributing milk to the society. In due course he concentrated on the Textile business. He developed K.S.R. Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd., K.S.R. Exports, K.S.R. Benefit Fund Ltd., Rajammal Rangasamy Finance Ltd., Srinivasa Warping and Auto Sizing Mills and a fleet of power looms. Further he extended his business to Rig operations and Finance Companies.
In a short span of time he became a business magnet. Inspite of his wealth and fame, his desire to acquire systematic education remained unfulfilled. He started thinking about providing education to the people of his locality. This desire of his was instrumental is starting KSRIT, KSRCT and KSRCAS in K.S.R. Educational and Charitable Trust and RRM HSS and RRITI in Rajammal Rangasamy Educational and Charitable Trust. He has been blessed with two sons Thiru. R. Aassaithambhee and Thiru. R.Srinivasan. His daughter-in-law Thirumathi Amuthaa Aassaithambhee is efficiently running the Rajammal Rangasamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School and his younger daughter-in-law Thirumathi. Kavitha Srinivasan is the Directress of K.S.Rangasamy College of Arts and Science.
The K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology is situated on the right of the Erode - Tiruchengode highway, at Thokkavadi village, 12 Kms. away from Erode. It is located in a spacious campus of 150 acres. It is easily accessible by bus from Erode and Tiruchengode. The College has the most modern computer centre with the latest, PENTIUM PRO @ 200 MHz SPEED system which was released in November 1996 in the United States. The college has a spacious and well-stocked library. Provision has been made for an excellent swimming pool and a health club. A well equipped gymnsium is one of the main attractions of the health club. Separate Hostels for Men and Women students with mess attached and colour T.V. on each floor are important recreation features. The College has provision for outdoor games, indoor games and catering classes. There is a Co-operative stores for purchasing stationery items.
The college has excellent rapport with the Industries around it. Industrial tours are arranged periodically for all the classes. An efficient Placement Cell is functioning in the campus. Several MBA, MCA and B.E., students have got their placements, in the concerns like L&T, BPL, Air Cell, Gradiant, Etc., even before they have completed their final projects.
Erode and Salem are the nearby railway junctions, the nearest being ERODE RAILWAY junction. Several mofussil and town buses connect, Erode and Tiruchengode to the K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology Campus. The bus-stop is directly in front of the Engineering College Gate.
