Some of the urgent needs:

1. Scholarships, costumes, etc for the highly talented students from poor families
   Many talented students' parents cannot afford even the cost of standard costume and accessories, not to speak of the costs of sending their child to take part in a festival or a dance competition, especially if the presence of a live orchestra is required. There are exceptionally gifted students who cannot afford the arangetram costs.

2. Transportation facilities
   We still have to turn down many invitations to give performances if the transportation is not provided. Besides, many of those children who do not live within a walking distance from the dance studio cannot attend the classes because of the transportation problem. 3. Larger dance studio
   At present, the classes at the main branch continue to be held in a small rented hall in KK Nagar. As the number of our students has substantially increased, a larger (at least 80 sq m) dancing space is needed, but renting such a hall would cost us about Rs.15000 (335 USD) per month, which we cannot afford now. 4. Equipping the dance studio

Our dreams

• As any institution, Sri Devi Nrithyalaya needs a building of its own that would include a spacious dance studio, a library with video resources. At present, the minimum estimate for the land and the building itself in the KK Nagar area would be around Rs.50 lakhs (over 100000 USD). • Another thing that would make the institution financially independent in the long term is a video recording studio of its own, where we could produce videos for TV and for distribution on DVDs.
