Born 1958 in Imphal, India, a former student of the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Calcutta and Kala Bhawan Shantiniketan.
He has been awarded senior fellowship in painting by the Department of Culture, Government of India.
Solo & Group Shows
His solo shows held in Varanasi in 1986,88 and 99; Jangir Art Gallery
Bombay in 1988, 91, 95 and Sirjana Contemporary Art Gallery Kathmandu
in 1996. His more than fifty group shows held in Calcutta, Bombay, New
Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Imhal, Varanasi, Kathmandu and Dubai.
Participations
He has been participating in National and State Level Art Exhibitions
since 1980 regularly. He participated in the 4th and 8th Asian International
Art Exhibition held in Seoul, South Korea in 1989 and Fakuaka and Tagowa
Japan 1993. He attended 14 painters camp in Vrindavan, Jammu, Allhabad,
Bikaner, Calcutta, Kud, Imphal, Udaipur, Bangalore and Varanasi organised
by different Art Organisations and Academies. He participated on invitation
in 1990-'Calcutta through the eyes of painters', in 1992-'The artists
of Northern India' on Silver Jublee, in 1994-'Young Faces of Contemporary
Indian Art' sposored by Birla Academy in 1994-'An Exhibition of paintings,
sculptures and graphics at Damascus, Syria under the cultural exchange
programme of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 1995-'8 Comtemporary Indian
Painters' sponsored by Birla Academy, Calcutta, in 1996-'6th Bharat Bhavan
Biennale of Contemporary Art' Bhopal, in 1998-“Visions Du Monde Center
De Loisirs Et Dc Rencontres', Switzerland in 1999-'Interstate Exhibition
of Art' Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy, Bangalore organised by UP State
Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow, in 2000 UP Contemporary Art Exhibition-II
organised by State Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow.
Collections
His works are in collection in India and abroad that is Australia, Japan,
USA and the UK, Holland, South Korea, Italy, Marutius, France, Nepal,
Greece, Germany and Switzerland.
At present, he is HOD (Painting) Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU, India, and Vice President, UP State Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow, India.
