Born
in Varanasi, India, in 1958 she began with paintings under the guidance
of famous artist Late Shri Randa Ukil. In 1961 she did a textile design
course from Central Design Centre, Luknow. She is an alumnus of faculty
of music and fine arts Benaras Hindu University.
She worked for sri Gandhi Ashram,U.P. as a freelance Textile Designer
for 18 long years and for the Central Cottage Industry,New Delhi,"Manjusha",New
Delhi;Export House, Varanasi for 8 years. In 1975 she performed the
process of batik-work in the Documentary film of Khadi board, New Delhi.
And only next year she gave a Demonstration of batik-work and a show
on television, Bolognia, Italy following By another Demonstration of
Batik in the seminar of All India Handicraft Board Akbarpur,U.P.
At present, she is doing freelancing Batik work.
